Our art curriculum focuses on integrating aesthetics, studio art, collaboration and art history in an engaging, creative, and imaginative environment.

Each student will be encouraged to express themselves and fine tune their artistic abilities.  Students are taught many different styles of art and fundamentals of art, all while giving credit to the One who created all things.

Technology is ever-changing in our world and we strive to teach students the fundamentals necessary to create a strong foundation to build upon.

Students will be taught to use technology for problem-solving activities, creating simple publishing projects, painting and drawing, and slideshow presentations. In addition, students develop storytelling, research skills and communications skills through multimedia projects and writing in class.

Through their exposure to a world language, students develop at a young age the necessary skills to communicate in Spanish and to respect other cultures in our world.

We incorporate culture through art, handicrafts, dance, music through songs, chants and rhythms, social amenities, holidays and culinary experiences.

We believe teaching students, not only about music, but how to express themselves through music is incredibly important!

Preschool Music
Our 2, 3 and 4 year olds have so much fun in music!  We learn Biblically based songs that reinforce the Music Theory term or symbol for the day.  The 3 and 4 year old classes perform various musicals throughout the year, such as Mother’s Day, Christmas, Grandparent’s Day and Veteran’s Day celebrations.

Elementary Music
Kindergarten students delve a little deeper into learning what pitches are based on the Kodaly Method of Music.  In addition, they will also perform with hand bells at the Spring Bells/Recorder Concert, as well as singing at all 1st – 5th grade performances.

1st – 5th Grade Music 
These students take what they’ve learned so far and build upon it by incorporating the National Music Standards for Education.  Examples of these 9 areas include singing alone or with others in a choir, learning about instruments and their groupings, discussing music theory, composition and learning music as it relates to history.  In addition, each student will be taught how to play the Recorder and begin reading sheet music.  These students will perform at events such as Grandparent’s Day, Veteran’s Day, National Day of Prayer, Christmas and the Spring Bells/Recorder Concert.
